it’s official: I’m from the crossroads of the Salmon and Abalone Nations.
it may also be noted that my childhood was spent migrating between said crossroads and the Gator Nation?
it’s fitting I guess, considering how often my family fed me salmon, abalone, and gator.
This is a cool map! I’m from the Wild Rice Nation, with roots in the Moose, Bison, and Maple Syrup nation. All of which are accurate given the foods I grew up with :)
*squints and stares* Okay, what on EARTH is happening with east coast of Canada? And where did Newfoundland go? And PEI? And Nova Scotia as, you know, a distinct peninsula type thing? *boggles* Srsly map-drawing types. And Vancouver Island looks… well, not really there. And apparently only Cuba exists and the Bahamas and Jamaica… don’t. *disapproves of map*
IN OTHER NEWS. Hard to tell with the absolutely shit geography, but I’d roughly be Clambake/Maple Syrup nation. Mmmm. Clams. (Don’t really eat them a lot… but they are a pretty well known traditional food!) And maple syrup. OMG. MAPLE CLAMS. OR MAPLE OYSTERS. This sounds delicious.
I would add “lobster nation” to the north(ish) of “clambake nation” …. just sayin’
Accurate. Maybe on the completely non-existent north-eastish bit, lol.
I could very happily be part of a Maple Syrup Nation
although yeah there is something odd going on on the Nova-Scotia-ish side of that map.Posted on February 20, 2012 via é-náhkôhe'šeme with 37 notes
